In sports, revenge is fun. It makes for great back-and-forth at the water cooler, it’s a just-add-water topic on talk radio, and the headlines write themselves. But there are two kinds of sports revenge. There’s “Mission Accomplished” revenge, which is what the Red Sox earned in 2004 when they overwhelmed the Yankees in the American League Championship Series and stormed back to win.
